I Take My Imagination Everywhere (Even to Hospital)
Theatre Royal | The Egg | Hospitals in the South West of England - Composer & Sound Designer
COMING SOON : I Take My Imagination Everywhere (even to hospital) is a multisensory arts project commissioned by Theatre Royal Bath’s The Egg, designed to engage up to 600 in‑patients aged 6+ in hospitals. The project invites participants to engage with a sensory experience that sparks curiosity, imagination, and a sense of creative agency.
My contribution focuses on the sound dimension of this multisensory experience. by creating an accessible soundscape inspired by The Secret Garden and built from collected field recordings, sensory textures, and ecological storytelling. The sound world is designed to open portals between human and more‑than‑human environments, offering grounding, wonder, and imaginative expansion within clinical settings. Through sound, I’m exploring how nature-connected creativity can support wellbeing, reduce barriers to participation and support inclusion.
The wider programme aims to explore how creativity and nature can enhance wellbeing in hospital environments, how sensory participation can support autonomy, and how imaginative play can flourish even in constrained or clinical spaces.
